Redesign KVK API platform
On the KVK API platform, entrepreneurs can request APIs and find out how to connect them to their own systems. APIs make it possible for entrepreneurs to pull trade register data right into their internal processes—think automating CRM systems or application workflows.
APIs are pretty new at KVK. I created a UX strategy suggesting to develop the platform in three steps:
• Speed up API requests
• Cut down on customer support
• Build out the product offering

The dashboard where entrepreneurs can monitor their API usage and manage their business digitally.
The processing time for API applications was reduced by 85%.
Submitting an API application used to take an average of two weeks. The internal process was cumbersome, and the online form caused many dropouts. By mapping the process with a service blueprint, we pinpointed key areas to improve. With the help of data analysis, I optimized the screens in the application process. As a result of these changes, the average request time was reduced to one business day.
Supporttickets went down with 34%
Despite being a relatively new product, KVK spent a significant amount of time on customer support. A large portion of the questions related to how the APIs worked. This wasn’t surprising, given that the existing documentation consisted of about ten PDF files.
I involved customers in both the analysis and design phases. The documentation is now provided in HTML format. Over two years, the total number of customer inquiries decreased by 34%, even though the number of customers grew by 42% during the same period!
